Choose Well

Choose Well (Dewis Doeth) for iPhone was developed by me whilst at Crown Digital for the Welsh Government/NHS Wales, and is the official guide to choosing the right NHS service in Wales if one becomes ill or is injured.

The app provides a complete listing of all of the following services in Wales:

  • Emergency Departments (A&E)
  • Minor Injuries Units
  • GP Surgeries & Out of Hours Services
  • Optometrists / Dentists
  • Pharmacists

Along with helpful information about each type of service, you can find the nearest services to you (map view or list) as well as contact details, opening hours and directions. There is also access to the NHS Direct Wales
website along with useful self-care information.

The app is provided in both English and Welsh languages, and is available on the App Store here.

Glider

Free yourself from fiddling with projectors and embrace mobile technology with Glider, a state-of-the-art presentation app for the iPad. Glider employs peer-to-peer push technology to synchronise rich and interactive content between two or more iPads. Think of it as a remote control for all your content!

Scroll or pinch-zoom on your content and the same happens on all the other devices in the session. Rotate your device and the screen orientation is changed for all participants. You can even get creative with your content and use the annotations feature to highlight text or even draw shapes on the screen. Glider isn’t just designed for passive consumption of content: using the lock/unlock feature you can elect to unlock participants’ iPads and let them explore on their own, and then bring them back under your control.

The best thing about Glider is that it already works with almost all of your existing content! Load it up with your PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and videos and begin presenting through Glider. You can even load up websites and interactive HTML5 apps* and begin remote controlling them through Glider’s intuitive and friendly interface.

But it doesn’t stop there! Using our PilotPlug hardware device, you get a high-speed wireless access point, file storage device, USB host and web server all in one pocket-sized plug-and-play device. You can now deploy Glider anywhere that has a power plug and instantly create a wireless network from which you can start serving your content to multiple iPads – you can even start pushing out your content just by plugging a USB stick into PilotPlug!

PilotPlug has its own user-friendly browser-based control panel and file browser which makes it simple and fast to access your content anytime and anywhere. Like Glider, PilotPlug is totally zero configuration and is automatically detected by Glider.

Sendible

Sendible is a social media management service for businesses. The iPhone app allows users to update all their social networks at once, save drafts, share photos, schedule their messages to be sent at a specific date and time or to be recur in the future, manage their outbox and sent items and to view campaign reports analytics.

iPoodle

iPoodle is an iPhone implementation of the popular Moodle virtual learning environment package. iPoodle allows students to view their profile and courses, contact their lecturers/teachers and to download their lecture slides on-the-go for later viewing offline.

iRoute

iRoute is an iPhone interface to the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transportation) train service in San Francisco, CA. The app allows users to access information about each route and station, including details on nearby attractions and trains and routes accessible from that station.
